How to enable and configure the Cart Recovery text automation

The cart recovery text automation is a powerful way to recover abandoned carts on your online store and increase your sales.

How does it work?

Once you have implemented the e-commerce events tracking for your Grow script, we can track when visitors add items in their cart and when they place orders.

When visitors add items in their cart and don’t place an order within the time frame you have configured in the cart recovery automation, they will receive a cart recovery message, incentivising them to complete their order.

  1. Enable the cart recovery text automation.

  • Click on the toggle switch to enable the cart recovery text automation.

2. Configure the delay

  • This is the delay after which the cart recovery message will be sent from the moment the visitor added an item in their cart.
  • You can choose between Minutes, Hours and Days.

3. Edit the cart recovery message

  • In the text area you can enter the message that will be sent.
  • Don’t forget to add a link in your message as a call-to-action. Check here on how to add links in your SMS messages.
  • Keep an eye out on the character and SMS count at the bottom right of the text area.

Special characters: Note that special characters are not allowed in SMS messages.

4. Enable the follow-up message

  • You can also send a second follow-up message in the cart recovery automation.
  • The follow-up message will be sent if after the delay you have set, the visitor has still not placed an order.
  • To enable the follow-up message click on the toggle switch next to “Send a follow up message)

5. Configure the delay of the follow-up message

  • This is the delay from when the first message was sent.
  • So if the delay of the follow-up message is 12 hours, then the follow-up message will be sent 12 hours after the initial message was sent.
  • Note that the follow-up message will be sent only if the visitor has still not placed an order.

6. Edit the follow-up message

7. Don’t forget to click “Save” to submit your changes!

  • The success message appears that your changes were saved successfully.
