How many SMS messages will be sent based on character count?
Based on the character count of the text that you enter for each SMS message, a number of SMS messages will be sent.
The message does not appear broken up as multiple messages in the contact’s text app, but you will be charged for as many SMS messages are counted.
To check how many SMS messages are counted and charged, check at the bottom right of the text area where you enter the message.
- In the example of the screenshot above it means that:
- 1 SMS message will be charged
- You have 10 more characters, and then 2 SMS messages will be charged.
Character count for links: Note that for each link you add in your SMS message it counts for 27 characters.
- There is a built-in limit of up to 3 SMS messages, to not let messages get too long.
